Attorneys Interested in Lejeune Claims

Postby Andrea Byron » Sun Jun 01, 2008 5:30 pm

Most of this information, most of you have seen before, but I wanted to streamline it into 1 topic so that it makes it easier for everyone to see which attorneys are out there (that we know about) who are interested in the Lejeune claims. Please know that in providing this information, I have not had personal contact with most of these firms/attorneys. I cannot comment on their reputations or what they are looking for in Lejeune claims. These are firms that I have been informed of by others who are interested in Lejeune claims, or that have advertised as such. Any questions in regards to any of the below-referenced attorneys and/or firms should be directed to that respective attorney and/or firm.

FTCA cases

Postby Guest » Sat Jul 12, 2008 4:16 pm

Andrea,

In terms of getting representation soon, there seems to be a pattern that attorneys representing FTCA cases are unable to handle case(s) or represent us in our medial malpractice claim(s). It looks as if the laws have substantially increased the time, effort it takes and more importantly expenses that are required to investigate claims like ours. I have contacted dozens of law firms to include the ones you have graciously provided to us all. In attempti to pursuing our claim(s) I am also concerned about the statute of limitation period expiring.

"It is beyond believe that what has happened to all of us is compounded by the legal system not able or willing to help us!

Pete,

Trust me, I understand your frustration. Over the past 8 years I have called more than 2,000 law firms and out of those law firms, about 6 have agreed to look at our case. 5 of those 6 declined representation. Some declined after looking into it. Others declined after agreeing to represent my family. And it's very frustrating. I wish I knew of more firms interested in the cases right now, but at the moment, I do not. My advice is to just continue to call firms that a) have the funds to go against the federal government; b) have the guts to go against the federal government and c) have an experienced tort litigation/personal injury practice.

If and when I hear of other attorneys/firms who are interested, I will post their information on this list. I wish you the best of luck and please know that I am still contacting firms on behalf of everyone who is not currently represented- just asking them to take a look at the facts to see if they'd be interested.

I am not an attorney, so please don't take this as legal advice, but rather as an opinion. The statute of limitations (legally) is 2 years from the date of which you knew or should have known of the contamination. Currently, I believe there is a stay on the statute of limitations; however, I would not let this 2 year timeframe come and go without filing a claim form 95.

Hi,
Just a quick update here. I am trying to load the pictures of me and my two daughters but having problems navigating the site.
Also I contacted Anderson-Pangia via email and telephone message but they never replied to me.
Any luck with an Attorney actually filing a suit?
Thanks

MMejorado,
If you email the photos to me, I can put them up in our photo gallery. Just email them to photos@tftptf.com. As far as Anderson Pangia is concerned, send me an email with your contact email address and phone number and I'll see if I can't get a hold of Joe Anderson and ask him to get back with you. As far as any suits actually being filed- I don't think any have yet, but I think a few are in the process and should be filed soon.

Take care,

Andrea

Attorney Lyon

Postby marshacox » Thu Aug 21, 2008 8:55 am

Andrea,

Thankyou for posting hte information on The Lyon Law firm. I called first thing yesterday morning and spoke with Joe Lyon.

I have treid to call a few attorney's in my area to see if they would be willing to represent, but I have no idea what I am supposed to be telling them, other than the water was contaminated.

Some questions I could not answer.. well most of them.. is there soemthing in print that can give me a breif yet strong guideline to state our case and try to get more help for other families..??
I realize there is all kinds of information on the website.. but for people who are new to this.. (ME!) 20 years of information is alot to consume and can be quite confusing!! :)

I work from home and and am priveledged enought o be near the phone and available during the day to try to help as much as I can.. If I understood what all I was talking about!
Thankyou for all you do!!

DO NOT, I repeat, DO NOT, fill out the questionnaire that is provided by the USMC/DoN! You DO NOT need to fill that questionnaire out to file your SF-95! You must answer those questions later on once they adjudicate your claim but DO NOT answer those questions at this time.

When it is time to answer the questions on this questionnaire, do so ONLY UNDER THE ADVICE OF AN ATTORNEY! Much of the information that you would give them by answering these questions could possibly disqualify your claim. I repeat, DO NOT ANSWER THE QUESTIONNAIRE!!! Jerry Ensminger

Marsha,

I think that the best source of information we have right now is the TFTPTF Timeline. While it is only the first half of the story, it has a lot of clear information in it and it is in order. You can also read the USMC versions of the timelines (but they are not as clear, correct or as forthcoming by any means). I would also recommend reading up on the chemicals that were there (which we have a page for also.) I hope that this serves as some guidance. It is a LOT of information to take in and it is a time consuming process, but I think the more knowledge you have on the subject, the more comfortable and confident you will feel when talking to attorneys and/or the media. I know you've heard the saying "knowledge is power" and in this case, I believe that wholeheartedly.

Please let me know if you need anything.

I sent info to Lyon Law Firm also with no reply back. I guess I am going to have to try one a little closer to home.
