Attorneys Interested in Lejeune Claims

General Discussion-Camp Lejeune Water Contamination

Statute of Limitations

Postby bedworth » Sat Jun 13, 2009 10:25 am

All,
Like many of you I have been trying to contact attorneys who may be interested in my case. I have had one reply from numerous contacts. The reply did discuss the statute of llimitations for my state. I wonder if this will differ for those who are seeking legal action against the federal government but who may be restricted by different statute of limitations by different states. I would also ask if there is any attorney who may handle a class-action suit for those of us who believe we have been injured or made ill as a result of working/living aboard Camp Lejeune?
With respect and best wishes to all,

JOE LYON ATTORNEY

Postby bedworth » Thu Jun 25, 2009 9:44 am

All,
I have been contacted by an attorney for the subject company. As they are the only attorneys who have returned my calls/email out of about 20 other attorney requests, I would recommend giving them a call or sending an email.

They have contacted me since I posted and seem to be in the process of fact finding. They were quite thorough.

I'm glad to hear they've gotten back with you. I know some of them are backlogged and it is taking awhile to get back to people.

Contacted Anderson no reply

Postby MMejorado » Thu Jul 02, 2009 12:28 am

Hi,
I finally got my photos to upload!!!! After the third time. I just wanted to touch base with you, I sent you an email. Question is this for all of us or is it cut off at a certain year?
The new lawsuit, does it cover all of us? I called the Anderson firm and never got a response, so are we all included? I will call the Penn. firm in the morning and see if there is a cut off.
Thanks

Independant chemical suppilers

Postby MMejorado » Sat Jul 11, 2009 8:29 pm

I think it's a good idea about suing the chemical comp that sold the base the cleaning solvents found in the drinkinng water, where were their studies as to what may happen if humans comsumed it? Did they do an environmental impact survey as to what would happen when these solutions were dumped into the ground contaminating the wells and underground water supply all these wells were tapped into?
And who gave them permission to dump barrels into the creek running behind the daycare?
Another issue needs to be opened up here. TT1 was built on an old land fill. When I was a liffeguard I could see the deep ravine that ran directly behind the daycare. It was not a natural hill, because there were trees that were at least 20 ft. tall before the hill began. This was what prompted me to shoot the video footage, at the bottom of the ravine was rusted barrels of black . coming from some underground stream going into the New River inlet, then I found out from a base maintinance employee that the whole area was built on a landfill.
When base housing moved us from Pelilue to Bouganville at the top of the "hill" there were small monitors near the ceiling on the wall, that weren't smoke detectors, when I ask base housing what they were I was told radon detectors, but no one ever came and checked them.
Meanwhile the WM they moved into my old house on Pelilue (at the bottom of the hill) was told if she didn't take the house at 1062 E Pelilue she would be moved to the bottom of the list. She was sent to Desert Storm and her mother came to take care of her 2 small children. She immediately started getting ill, she prepared foods and put them in the stove, showed the 3 year old how to open the stove, laid down on the couch and died. She was dead 3 days before neighbors heard the children crying. Luckily the 3 year old knew how to feed himself and his brother. The news Jan Bean and base covered it up saying she died from diabetis complications.
Once again just like when they came to take swabs of my house, they came in hazmat suits to get her body out. The WM was brought back and ordered to never talk about it or get kicked out of the Corps and sent to Okinawah.
I sent the video tape (there are 2 more out there) to Jan Bean news chanel 12, who while investigating our claims met with the Major of Joint Public Affairs in Legerm, she married him, became the Mayor, and got rid of my information. But I had copies of everything except the video, I even have our actual medical records and my dog had some weird form of dermatitis and died of cancer. This is after our protest in Oct 91, we lived in TT1 from Sept 89-Nov 91.
So if the wells were capped and not being used that means the groundwater supply the base still uses has been contaminated, as well as the houses, and although they have torn them down to cover it up, it is only a matter of time before the new houses are also contaminated and history will repeat itself. That place is worse than the Love Canal.

The lawsuit that was filed by Anderson Pangia was only filed on behalf of one person. Depending on how this case goes will determine how most other cases go from what I understand.

Remember, the federal tort claims act does not have provisions that allow class action lawsuits against the federal government, that means every case must be an indvidual suit.........Jerry

Independent Chemical Suppliers ?

Postby LagoonVet » Sun Jul 12, 2009 11:12 am

Did I miss something about independent chemical suppliers and a law suit being filed against them? I saw the latest postings on the subject but did not catch the main subject.

Has anyone followed the "paper-trail" from El Toro and Camp LeJeune ie common compounds and possible long term exposure with transfers and out of country residence(Marine deployed and family living near either contaminated site)? Also has anyone ever brought up concerns about families(Marines and/or dependents) send to Camp LeJeune for needed healthcare and/or surgery such as from Cherry Point)? Madison

I'd scrap that first firm, Anderson, Pangia & Associates. They might not be accepting new clients now, but when they are, beware! Do not fall for their grandiose claims! I did and I'm sorry I did! Bad enough being screwed over by the government, but they poured salt on the wound when they went on and on about how they were going to get around the Feris Doctrine and told me how my son certainly had a case. They took all of us on as clients. Never heard anything more from them until about a year or so later when first I got a letter saying they couldn't represent me because I'd been active duty and active duty personnel can't sue the military (DUH). Then they dropped three of my four kids because they didn't live at Lejeune. Finally, this year (two years later) they dropped my son, who had the cancer because he never replied to their mailing. Mailing he never received.

This was a firm who talked big but bit off more than they could chew. Do NOT think they will treat you with anymore respect than they've shown others!!
