Aggressive Prostate Cancer

General Discussion-Camp Lejeune Water Contamination

Aggressive Prostate Cancer

Postby waskasmarine » Tue May 29, 2012 7:24 pm

I am trying to find some information on linking aggressive prostate cancer to this contaminated water at Camp Lejeune. My husband has no familial history of prostate cancer anywhere in his family and certainly not of this aggressive sort. Since breast cancer (hormone based) is one of the cancers linked to this contamination, I feel that prostate cancer (also hormone based) may be linked as well. I am trying to find any of the documented information so I can send it on to his doctor while we are trying to 'still' get into the Veterans health program. If anyone knows where I can locate this info, please forward the www address for me. Thanks, and good luck to all.

Th tftptf home page has a link called Chemicals Health Effects that has quite a bit of information and prostate cancer is listed there. There is so much valuable information that Jerry and the group have loaded and it will take time to read thru it all.

Good Luck and God Bless!

I also contracted Prostate Cancer. I was at Camp Lejeune 1955 to 1957. I had the Prostate removed. 2 years later, the PSA started rising again, so I had 35 Sessions of Radiation. My PSA goes up and down. I am currently on a program of Female Hormone Injections. My last 6 month period, without the Female Hormones, has resulted in a PSA of 0.02 or nearly non-detectable, so I am off of the Hormones until my next exam in November 2012. The Radiation impacted me in other ways which include Ischemic CArdiomyopathy, Erectile Dysfunction,Stage 111 Chronic Kidney Disease, Type 11 Diabetes and Bowel Dysfunction. The Female Hormones have blessed me with all the side effects of a Female going through Menopause, lates of which are very severe hot flashes. The references i am providing are documents that I provided my Urologist as reference material for a Nexus Letter that he provided for me.

EAch of these documents show a connection of the Toxic Materials and Contaminated Water to Prostate Cancer

Sgt Ray provided all of the necessary links but I used the ATSDR information linking contamination to prostate cancer for my VA Claim and it worked. The ATSDR also references other research in this area on their website and you can include excerpts from that research in a VA Claim. There is plenty of data linking TCE/PCE to prostate cancer.
