I was stationed in CLNC in 1984-85 at court house bay. I now live in MI. Just found out about this mess about 8 mos ago. went to VA to file claim ; get this, they had no clue what was going on. found one counselor that knew a little about it. I was told that I need non-VA doctor nexus letter with regards to health issues. I am currently 60% rated for heart condition. and now I found out most if not all the contaminates cause this type problem. Local VA office just said good luck nothing we really can do. but we'll help you. they will help when hell freezes over.

I've "talked" to mike about having a meeting in the Milwaukee area. Is there anyone else interested? Maybe in the Racine/Kenosha area to make it closer for IL vets to participate?

John,

Jim Fontella is trying to get a meeting in Michigan. I am not sure if that will be close enough. He is Fontonto on the website.

John Hartung is no longer associated with this site. Not sure what sites he frequents now.

Hi John, my name is Frederick and I am from the city of Chicago. I was stationed at Lejuene from March of 80 to June of 81. I filed for disability last November based on my VA doctor suggestion. For the past 11 years my health has been slowly declining. I was diagnosed with Bladder Cancer in 2001, abnormal hyperparathyroid in 2003, and 2005 thru 2006 I was experiencing Kidney problems with stone growth. Now I have recently been told that I have a tumor under my arch in my foot, along with type two Diabetes. I was with 8th Eng Bn French Creek; Bulk-Fuell Co; Fuel Platoon. I was one of the Marines who was sent out to base housing on the station to drain the heating fuel from the homes tanks in the summer of 1980. This I do remember doing. Its a pleasure to meet with others who are not so well. Thanks you all.
