This link will explain what these chemicals are and what they do http://water.epa.gov/drink/contaminants ... oducts.cfm

VOCs were first discovered to be interfering with tests for TTHMs in Lejeune drinking water

I started this thread about the water at MCAS New River which has the MCAS TTHM warning Photograph and MCAS/TTHM information picked out From Mike Partain's timeline viewtopic.php?f=1&t=1801

The Rifle Range also had high TTHMs

While these doses do not sound very dangerous, when they are mixed with other chemicals, the effects can be synergistic and take longer to expel from the body.

This thread is a discussion of low dose chemical mixtures http://www.tftptf.com/v-web/bulletin/bb ... f=1&t=1901

This link has the current EPA standards http://www.epa.gov/enviro/html/icr/gloss_dbp.html

The Camp Geiger and New River Air Station drinking water system had very high (out of compliance tthm readings) which were being caused by saltwater intrusion into several of the supply wells for that system...Jerry Ensminger

These are addressed in the time-line linked on our home page!

The "new" chemical is perchlorate. It comes from rocket fuel and explosives. http://water.epa.gov/drink/contaminants ... lorate.cfm

The Marine Corps is also testing all live fire ranges and surrounding aquifers with non-regulatory testing (read: discretionary function). Some Drinking water infrastructure modeling is/was also conducted for the non-regulatory testing.
